Submission from Luke in TN- My girlfriend Katelyn started building a 1980 CB650 in her laundry room over the winter.  A month ago, she brought it to my shop to finish.  After she did the rings, jugs and valves we heaved the engine back into her beautifully finished frame.  She’ll be riding this third bike of hers by August.  On nights like this, I’m the one barefoot in the kitchen.     Thanks for the awesome shot and story, Luke! It’s August now… send me some pics of your girl and her sweet new… Continue Reading »

I am reading about the Monster Project! I love the way you write and cross out stuff but leave it there. Also this is a really cool project!! I always wanted a motor bike so reading about someone building one is fascinating. Keep going and all the best! I am not sure if its already all done… must keep on reading!

Thank you so much for the note. The Monster Project hasn’t had a lot of movement lately (trying to get my tank back right now…) but will soon for sure! Also… what are you waiting for? If you’ve always wanted a motorcycle, you should get one!

Are you tall and thin? Or tall and ‘proportionate’? European cuts (such as Dainese) is going to be built for thinner folks and… Continue Reading »

A bit crass but hey, can’t argue with the sentiment! I’m glad you support motoladies and not motopassengers! Thanks for writing. 🙂 Also… this video comes to mind.

Paul d’Orléans (of the Vintagent blog) took his old Chamonix camera to the Bonneville Salt Flats. Wet plate motorcycle photography on a dry lake bed. How cool! This photo of Ana Llorente (racer and East Side Moto Babe) on her 175cc Motobecane is definitely my favorite. [More wet plate photography | of Ana Llorente | of East Side Moto Babes | from the Vintagent]

MotoLady, the RC51, and the Salt Flats

I put on all my gear and took the Honda RC-51 out of the truck today… had some fun on riding on the salt flats. Set up my camera on timer for this shot… used my gloves for a tripod. ;P
