Pick up the pick-up road trip adventure! So, right before I went down to San Diego some drunk guy slammed into my car on the side of the road while it was parked (no, I wasn’t in it). Luckily for me he had insurance, and the lovely Taj of Ms Moto Pro has a truck that is exactly what I want. Since she’s in Colorado, I’m flying down there and driving it back. I’ve never driven up the California Coast, nor have I been to Yosemite. So if all goes well I’ll… Continue Reading »
This photograph captures many aspects of the joys of motorcycling rather well, wouldn’t you agree? Christi Farrell (of the Moterrific Podcast with Joann Donn) stands overlooking Loja, Ecuador in her motorcycle gear. Adventures keep our hearts open and give them room to grow… just another reason motorcycling is good for the soul.
San Diego Adventures: Moto Monday & More
Felt the love in San Diego- seems like a place where people’s hearts are as warm as the weather. A great, budding motorcycle community that could explode at any instant. Constantly nice riding weather, cool shops abound… why don’t I live there again? Erik Borowitz, co-owner of Cerberus Motorcycles, even took me around town on a little 1982 Honda Ascot FT500 (big thanks to Dave Hargreaves for the loan) so I got to see some sights and eat some awesome food at Pokez. Some various highlights before I unleash you into the… Continue Reading »
Trophy Motorcycles Bike Night
Trophy Motorcycles, a shop specializing in keeping the spirit of vintage motorcycling alive in San Diego, CA often has bike nights on Saturday in the afternoon/evening. Luckily for me this weekend was one of those times. After flying in to San Diego at the crack of dawn and bustling about all day, one of the owners of Cerberus took me over to Trophy. There was a great lineup- a variety similar to that I see at the events in my home town! Impressive. Quite a few lovely ladies showed up, too. Nina… Continue Reading »
Daniel Ross’ beat up frankenbike named “Electric Alice” outside Pokez Mexican restaurant in San Diego today… Daniel put this thing back together in three days. He found the chassis in a barn- hadn’t been registered in 30 years. After some swapping, it’s probably close to just as dangerous as the day it was first built. See him fire it up for the first time on instagram»
Working with the infinitely talented Gregor Halenda was an absolute treat- and before all the photos come out for the joint gear review project with Silodrome, I wanted to share this shot from lighting tests that we were particularly fond of. While you might not recognize his name, you’ve seen his work. In the Ducati model catalogue, Rev’It’s campaign with Ducati, and so much more. Your eyes will thank you for hopping over to his website for a look-see- gregorhalenda.com. Huge thanks to Gregor for making this work on a tight schedule… Continue Reading »
