Hello from Honda HQ in Torrance, CA! The Rebel gets it’s 500 mile service, and I get a tour.
Suzuki Recursion Concept: Classic Modern in Full Effect
This summer BMW released their Concept Ninety, a retro modern motorcycle roughly based on the 40 year old R90 design. This month, Suzuki followed up with a retro modern styled sport bike called the Recursion Concept. The bike has beautiful classic lines with modern angles, a 588cc water-cooled two-cylinder engine… and turbo.
The idea behind the small displacement engine equipped with an inter-cooled turbocharge system is to offer a lighter weight motorbike with all the power of a bigger, heavier liter-bike.
Partially faired, it’s a more modern take on the sport classic style.
The whole bike is quite easy on the eyes if you ask me, if it rides as well as it looks I think we’ll have a winner in the classic modern category. I for one hope that bike design continues down this road, as many sport bikes (to me) look like bloated space ships without all the perks of flight. First thing’s first, let’s see if this bike makes it to production.
