For all you guys who have been sending me messages/leaving comments asking about where I got my boots. You know, the vintage motocross boots I am wearing in all those Thruxton photos by Giles Clement. The BORN TO RIDE June contest winner is Lauri McKain! I started riding two years ago, and up to that point had never changed my own tire or oil in any vehicle. A few months after riding, I broke down with my 2006 Ninja 250. With the help of a friend, I changed out the engine. Valerie Thompson on her stock BMW S1000RR, being generally bad ass. Valerie Thompson, owner/driver of the Valerie Thompson Land Speed Racing Team, joined an elite group of “Mojave Magnum 200 MPH Club” members at this premier event when she piloted her Martech Services Company BMW to a top speed of 209.5 mph over the new 1.5-mile course on June 2 in Mojave California, reportedly making it the world’s fastest production BMW S1000RR. Teammate Bob Sellers recorded a top speed of 219.5 mph on his Suzuki Hayabusa. (bmwmoa.org)
