At the Deviants CC compound in Vancouver, WA… I spent a few hours going at the BSA frame with an angle grinder yesterday. My mission was to remove the bondo from the frame so I could see what is really going on with the structure of the hard tail, where I need to cut and start over again. Nicolai Sclater, aka OrnamentalConifer (blog), is a British graphic designer gone sign painter. Back in december I posted photos of hand painted leather jackets by Ornamental Conifer. Then earlier in April I posted the first “Further” video featuring an awesome bike with SUSHI EATER lettering on the side. Observe, that same bike in the secondrow/middle photo above! Behold the 1966 Triumph Bonneville custom hard-tail bobber owned and built by Mitch Sander. I got to meet this really cool cat over the weekend who found this Bonny engine and then built around it. He did it all himself, including dreaming up a GSXR front end swap. More photos and backstory soon to come. Photograph by yours truly.
