Rust Bucket Project: The Bondo Bike
At the Deviants CC compound in Vancouver, WA… I spent a few hours going at the BSA frame with an angle grinder yesterday. My mission was to remove the bondo from the frame so I could see what is really going on with the structure of the hard tail, where I need to cut and start over again. What you can do with some elbow grease and effort is truly amazing. Seeing high dollar builds with every detail planned and perfectly executed is definitely inspiring, each piece a work of art. But I think what I like more are garage built bikes, customized by the owner to their liking instead of a shop or designer. They both have their positives, but this is a great example of what I mean. The other day I posted Angie Cooper and her Triumph T120 chopper barn find… I wanted to share this 1978 Triumph 750 Bonneville 750CC T120 that will be on display at the One Motorcycle Show this weekend here in Portland. Hard to pin a year and model on this bike, but the motor is a 1978 750cc T120 Bonneville, everything else is from random years or fabricated. Had this awesome submission in my tumblr inbox today- Angie Cooper from Richmond, VA. 1967 Triumph T120 chopper to be brought back to life from totheriver.tumblr.com. I just picked up this barn find last week and plan on getting her running this spring. Currently I ride a 2009 Kawasaki KLX 250SF as my daily driver and a 1974 BWM R90 for longer trips.
