Felt the love in San Diego- seems like a place where people’s hearts are as warm as the weather. A great, budding motorcycle community that could explode at any instant. Constantly nice riding weather, cool shops abound… why don’t I live there again? Erik Borowitz, co-owner of Cerberus Motorcycles, even took me around town on a little 1982 Honda Ascot FT500 (big thanks to Dave Hargreaves for the loan) so I got to see some sights and eat some awesome food at Pokez. Some various highlights before I unleash you into the… Continue Reading »

Trophy Motorcycles Bike Night
Trophy Motorcycles, a shop specializing in keeping the spirit of vintage motorcycling alive in San Diego, CA often has bike nights on Saturday in the afternoon/evening. Luckily for me this weekend was one of those times. After flying in to San Diego at the crack of dawn and bustling about all day, one of the owners of Cerberus took me over to Trophy. There was a great lineup- a variety similar to that I see at the events in my home town! Impressive. Quite a few lovely ladies showed up, too. Nina… Continue Reading »
The video, “Never Fast Enough” by Dylan Ozanich captures some of the magical feelings of motorcycling. When you and your pals are rollin’ around a corner perfectly in sync, or taking off from a stop as hard as you can not to really race but just to have a little fun… the almost weightless feeling you get when your tires are almost floating over the asphalt while you fly. Stormie’s Wrench Wednesdays
I posted a little intro to Stormie’s Wednesday wrench night a couple days ago, and wanted to follow up with a few pics. The motocycle version of Charlie’s Angels (above), photographed by Lanakila MacNaughton,. Left to right we have myself, Jada Noriyuki, and Stormie Ray. Stormie provided a HUGE amount of meat, Jeff Wolf manned the BBQ, and attendees were instructed to bring something NOT MEAT and that didn’t need to be cooked. Loads of bikes and a spattering of other cool cars, there is one thing all attendees have in common: they’re great… Continue Reading »
Building a bad ass motorcycle community in your region is not impossible! I get lots of messages from people saying they envy living on the West Coast, in Portland, etc because we have such an awesome group of motorcyclists and throw cool events, rides and such. Well, take it from Stormie Ray, you don’t need a huge shop or an epic ride planned. Stormie throws “Wrench Wednesdays” at her place where everyone can show up and work on their projects and put their heads together with other enthusiasts. Try throwing your own… Continue Reading »
