A place where traffic moves aside to let you pass, the vibrant colors of fall leaves fill your field of vision, roads are open and inviting… my Northern adventure was full of good times. The best parts? Doing it all on the BMW f650GS, and being in great company. Morning arrived and I pulled myself out of the comfy hotel bed- 9am local time for Toronto, and a painful 6am home time.It didn’t matter- I was chomping at the bit to rail the 2012 BMW f650GS on the Ontario, Canada roads I’d… Continue Reading »

After lunch yesterday Virgil Knapp (photographer) and Adam Wood (videographer) stashed themselves in the back of the minivan and took some photo and video (which turned out amazing, you’ll see) before we made our way to the amazingly awesome Woodland Echoes Resort. A cabin in the woods on the lake, with a jacuzzi, and a fish fry in the hall! What motorcycle traveller could ask for more!? Maybe life size chess? They have that too. Also, a baby dragonfly graced my motorcycle, and I took a power nap laying on it.
Super short iphone capture of the footage Adam Wood’s camera yesterday- he was shooting video some of today for this trip. He and Mike Jacobs (of Ontario Moto Roads) discuss in the backgroundhow great his video is (well, that’s what they say more or less.) PS. A few photos from my Canada trip so far (left to right, top to bottom)- arrived last night and met up with Rod (posted to FB I’d be in Toronto and this chap joined me) for a drink. Went to the Deeley Canada HD manufacturer warehouse to pick some stuff up for the boys who were riding Harleys. Drove out to Gravenhurst and met up with the bikes, met my BMW f650GS… more than stoked to be riding it. Rode HWY 141 and ended in Huntsville.
Flying out of Portland tomorrow and into Toronto, Canada for the 2013 Riding the Edge Press trip. Five of us are riding off in Ontario, doing 1000 miles in five days. It may get down to 37 degrees Fahrenheit (3 degrees Celsius) and should be raining the whole time. I’m from Portland so rain ain’t no thang- this will be a blast! To get an idea of where I’ll be, and things I’ll see… read about the Explorers’ Edge and hit this video (below). [ Links: RideTheEdge.ca | tagged Road Trip ]
