Big fan of The Vintagent, rare old motorcycle photos combined with history lessons we probably wouldn’t hear of otherwise. This is a 1903 twin-cylinder Buchet, from the Age of Monsters…built for track racing in those early days when there was ‘no replacement for displacement’…this engine was probably 2976cc, and Maurice Fournier rode it to 75mph over the flying kilo that year. Buchet invented the vertical twin! Imagine riding this beast, stretched out directly over a hot engine; my guess is he didn’t ride it long! Visit the Vintagent blog. Video: Hitler Wants A Gixxer (For His First Bike)

Most of us are familiar with the Hitler video meme wherein the english subtitles are changed to humorous banter completely unrelated to the Nazi regime. In this parody video, Hitler wants a GSXR 650 or 1000 for his first bike, and his compadres try to talk sense to him about starting with something smaller and, well, Hitler throws a temper tantrum (naturally). “I want my 180 wheels! I want to beat Ferraris! I will have women pulling the balls out of my pants!” Just under 4 minutes of amusingly familiar arguments. I… Continue Reading »

The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show 2014

Pandora and I were unable to make it to the Handbuilt Motorcycle Show in Austin, Texas on April 11th and 12th this year. The event is snuggled up to MotoGP and features the Wall of Death, a full bar, and works of Shinya Kimura, Walt Siegl, Revival Cycles, Boyle Custom Moto, and one of my favorite motoladies Sofi Tsingos plus a ton of other talented folks. Sofi and Brandon LaJoie of GT Moto (website) helped out with some awesome photos and words on the event. “First, I would like to say how mind… Continue Reading »
