The topmost photo was posted all over the interwebs with no source. I did some hunting and found it came from the Triumpher blog (Japan). A bunch of dapper dudes with damn good looking bikes.
Swap meet time! So much good stuff, and entertaining people. Like these fellas I met from Gassers Garage in Portland. There’s still two days to go, and tons of cool stuff… It was raining on and off all day as we’re used to in the Pacific Northwest, so most folks had nice tents set up. This is pretty much the epitome of “my type of place” with motorcycles, cars, leather jackets, tack, cowboy hats, old signs, all sorts of stuff. Now, this is no surprise to most swap meet goers, but it’s… Continue Reading »
…for science! Or… for the love of moto! Or simply because it’s fun to do things that aren’t maybe the best idea. Either way, Thor raised $50,000 to bring some amazing books to print… two years of the One Motorcycle Show. To entice investors, he said he’d jump over them for another 10k. He got it. Today, he jumped ‘em. The ramp said it all. After a few practice jumps and wheelies… and burnouts… It was time. Thor is victorious. And he should be. The wheels of that dirtbike are, how you… Continue Reading »
Remember the posts about helping fund the One Motorcycle show books kickstarter project? Well, the crew hit their mark… so Thor upped the stakes by agreeing to “jump over all the people who pledged” if they hit 60k before time was up. Happily for us, they made it! If you’re in the Portland area you should come down to Club 21 (2035 NE Glisan St.) tomorrow (Wednesday Apr 3rd at 5p) and witness Evil Thornievel jumping a bunch of folks. Check out the (fully funded!) kickstarter project page here… and info about the jump… Continue Reading »
A really keen design company here in Portland released an interactive video about some prominent Portland motorcycle builders. Why should you care? Well, besides that it’s always a treat to hear what inspires other motorcyclists… the bad ass imagery comes to mind. “Why’d you build it if you aren’t going to ride it?” – Casey Him Some screenshots and favorite quotes below. ‘Kind of the funnest part about trips is breaking down. You kind of meet the best people when that happens because shitty people don’t stop to help you.” – James Crowe… Continue Reading »
So, I bought this early 60’s BSA frame a couple months ago from a neighbor with the intent to start working on it when the Monster is done. I didn’t post about it because I knew I’d catch a whole lot of flack from people wondering why the hell my Monster has taken so long, and why I’m picking up new projects before the first is done. But let’s face it, if you’re into motorcycles and especially customizing them… you know exactly what is going on here. It’s got a Harley rear… Continue Reading »
