You’ve probably seen work by BMD somewhere online already and it didn’t even register- he’s done work for Nike, Quicksilver, Fuel Motorcycles and more. BMD stands for “Bella Matribus Detestas” which is Latin and translates to “War, the horror of mothers.” His art is refined yet rough, simple but robust… managing to capture the message and mood of an event or product within a graphic. Ueda Helmet Sculptures
Shuhei Ueda, located in Japan, is doing some very interesting things in the way of helmet art under the name Ueda Helmets including iconic race replicas. Instead of painting helmets that are already manufactured, he’s sculpting helmets with human features in/on them. Shuhei was born in 1980 in Hiroshima, Japan. He aquired his M.F.A. at Osaka University of Arts in 2005. Below he is modeling his Kenny Roberts themed helmet. Delaware based Allison Rose Lear is a motorcyclist, artist, and more. (Photograph by Lanakila MacNaughton of the Women’s Moto Exhibit.) Her art is timeless, detailed, and striking.
