The third annual Biltwell Parking lot Sale happened today at their new spot in Temecula, CA! I scored a tank and fender for a whopping $5, met the beautiful Ashmore of Babes Ride Out, saw the infamous Dump Truck again, drank free beer that flowed from a vintage Fire Truck, and laid eyes on some beautiful machines.  The Biltwell shop is lovely, all their goodies on display and lookin’ classy as expected. Nice bikes inside, a wall of helmets and a plethora of fun bits for your builds.  Thanks for a great… Continue Reading »

Behind the scenes shots from Lanakila‘s shoot yesterday for her ongoing project the Women’s Motorcycle Exhibit (website). She creates portraits of real women who ride, showing their personalities, styles, and passion for motorcycling through medium format film photographs. The owners of Trophy Motorcycles (vintage European moto shop in San Diego- website), Isaac and Tim, were kind enough to lend out two vintage Triumph desert sleds for the shoot. Isaac picked me up in the AM and we drove out to Temecula in his classy Ford truck. The drive was lovely, and I… Continue Reading »

San Diego Sunday Ride

My friend David and I went out on an epic ride yesterday with the intention of hitting at least two of the ‘famous’ San Diego roads I keep hearing about. Well, we ended up hitting more than just two.  (Photo by Rick Clemson) Our ride was a great one indeed, over 200 miles (I lost track) and countless amazing views. Ramona -> Old Julian Hwy to Santa Ysabel -> Mesa Grande to Lake Henshaw -> 76 -> South Grade to Palomar -> lunch -> Palomar State Park -> East Grade -> 79… Continue Reading »

Learnin’ Tools & Makin’ Stuff

So now that I’m at Cerberus, a real shop with real tools, I’m learning the in’s and out’s of each machine’s purpose, building techniques etc. the best way I know how… by making stuff! When I was a kid, I did crafts constantly. Between my early affinity for MacGyver and my family all being proponents of art projects and encouraging general creativity, I’d always be making something out of something. Whether is be mud pies, drawing horses underneath my mom’s kitchen table (it took her years to notice), or building paper mâché… Continue Reading »
