Trouble in San Diego- early this morning a light colored Cadillac sedan with a male driver crossed over into oncoming traffic and hit a motorcyclist. The 32 year old motorcyclist was killed, his passenger injured, and the caddy fleed the scene. Keep an eye out for a white or light colored four door Cadillac with fron driver-side damage and call the Police if you see the asshole. I wish there was more info on the suspect, but alas… that’s all there is. Original article on CBS8 »

Suzuki Recursion Concept: Classic Modern in Full Effect
This summer BMW released their Concept Ninety, a retro modern motorcycle roughly based on the 40 year old R90 design. This month, Suzuki followed up with a retro modern styled sport bike called the Recursion Concept. The bike has beautiful classic lines with modern angles, a 588cc water-cooled two-cylinder engine… and turbo. The idea behind the small displacement engine equipped with an inter-cooled turbocharge system is to offer a lighter weight motorbike with all the power of a bigger, heavier liter-bike. Partially faired, it’s a more modern take on the sport classic… Continue Reading »
Retro Modern Bell Bullitt Coming Soon
Looks like Bell decided to join the retro modern full face helmet club- they recently announced the Bullitt, modeled after the original Bell Star helmet from 40 or so years ago, and so far it’s been shown in three color variations. They do have a really awesome look to them. I’ve yet to find out just how safe that tiny little chin strap will be… the jury is still out in my opinion. Looks like you’ll have to wait until March of 2014 to get one, but that’s actually not that far… Continue Reading »
The Bias of the NYC SUV Road Rage Incident… AGAIN
Guys, this is what I’m talking about. Nothing about the NYC incident where the Range Rover gets surrounded after a traffic collision then runs over a rider and three motorcycles was okay. Nothing. But what is absolutely abhorrent is the fact that nearly every “big media” news article I read about it said the rider who got ran over had a “broken leg”. Only one I saw alluded to more injuries. That rider is in a coma, on a breathing machine because his lungs were crushed. I just want to remind everyone… Continue Reading »
People, this is real- Volkswagen is talking about putting a Ducati 1199 Panigale engine in a car. While a base model fancy hybrid car called the XL1 will hit the Geneva convention, they’re now discussing an XL Sport model equipped with the aforementioned Panigale superquadro engine. It sounds like this car won’t make it to production, but still… I find this intriguing for countless reasons, especially because Ducati was purchased by Audi/Volkswagen while I was working at the Ducati dealership (MotoCorsa). Many people wondered if VW might try to influece the engineering… Continue Reading »
Motorcyclist Struck by Lightning on I5
Be careful out there, guys! Depending on where you are, the weather is changing rapidly and it’s been kind of a doozy for riding. In the Pacific Northwest for the last couple weeks you could ride your bike down to meet some friends at a restaurant and it’ll have been sunny and 75° fahrenheit (~23.9° celsius) all day- you’ll walk out an hour and a half later and it’ll be pouring buckets with thunder and lightning! A 60 y/o motorcyclist was struck by lightning this morning around 9:30a on the I5 freeway in Chehalis,… Continue Reading »
Ever imagined what it would be like to be chased by a dangerous animal on a motorcycle? Well, Tim Bartlett found out while joy riding his new bike on Hwy 93 in Canada when he almost hit a lone wolf on the highway. Apparently Tim almost hit the wolf while riding in Kootenay National Park on Saturday, and returned to the scene where the wolf had appeared. At that point the animal jumped back over the concrete barrier, crossed a lane of traffic, and began the chase that lasted just over a… Continue Reading »
Puppy Thrown at Hell’s Angels
In memory of Kimberly Lynn Layfield who was one of the victims of the shooting at Cafe Racer Cafe in Seattle, Washington last week. A bad ass chick, a nice person, and a lady of the moto variety. Read D.A. Sebasstian’s blog post about the news and his experiences working with her on his movie Hot Rod Girls Save the World.
