Super short iphone capture of the footage Adam Wood’s camera yesterday- he was shooting video some of today for this trip. He and Mike Jacobs (of Ontario Moto Roads) discuss in the backgroundhow great his video is (well, that’s what they say more or less.) PS. Probably don’t have the volume up on your device when you watch this.  The first half of our adventure today was pretty wet, though we only got actively rained on for maybe 30 minutes which isn’t too bad. Two BMWs out front, followed by two Harleys. … Continue Reading »

Backflipping A 1200cc Harley… Did He Land It?

Chances of backflipping a Harley Davidson motorcycle of stock variety (and landing it for that matter) is a tall order.  Back in 2008, Chuck Carothers went for it with his 1200cc Harley Davidson Sportster at the FMX Gladiator Games.  Does he land it? Watch and see for yourself.  [ Source: America Loves Horsepower ]

Reviewing the Infamous NYC SUV / Motorcycle Road Race Incident

At first I almost wanted to avoid posting the video of the SUV running over the motorcyclist and then getting pulled out of his car because it was all over the internet already and I’m really not one to “beat a dead horse”. However, after countless people have sent it to be or asked my opinion I figured it’s time to unleash the verbal beat down (on everyone involved). Every report I’ve read about it on huge news sites has been incredibly biased.  Post script addition: Seriously people, I’m not on the… Continue Reading »

The Woman Behind the Women’s Moto Exhibit

My friends, I have featured Lanakila MacNaughton’s photography from her project the Women’s Moto Exhibit many many times, but this time you get to see the woman behind the lens. This look behind the scenes literally gave me goosebumps- Austin Will perfectly captured the essence of art, artist, and subjects. I got chills and they’re multiplyin’! “I’m shooting medium format… film on Hassleblad. I’m manually focusing on a moving at 40 or 50 miles an hour.” For those of you who haven’t fiddled with this style photography (or even much at all… Continue Reading »

Another Sociopath Behind the Wheel…

Can anyone identify this man? Perhaps one of you works with him somewhere in the Seattle/Tri-Cities area… and can look him dead in the face and remind him that motorcyclists are people too? And that what he did was not only life threatening, but absolutely sociopathic?  The definition of a sociopath is, “a person with a psychopathic personality whose behavior is antisocial, often criminal, and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience” (from Dicationary.com). This behavior, the “I will f*** you up” threat, combined with “you need to learn… Continue Reading »

To Protect and Swerve? Police Officers & Motorcycle Accidents

Protecting yourself isn’t just about a helmet, gear with proper armor, or real rider training… I witness us two wheeled travelers arguing about helmet laws, lane splitting, and so many other  I saw a video on youtube yesterday that really made me sick to my stomach- it was footage from a rider’s helmet cam that showed him slowing in traffic to allow a car to merge followed by him being rear ended by a police officer. The shocking part? The officer then ripped him a new one, yelling about how he was… Continue Reading »

Another good deed done by someone on two wheels- scooter rider out with his buddies sees a blind man walking down the side of the road and stops to help him out. You can tell the elderly gentleman appreciated the young motorists politeness, respect and assistance with his very simple, “Thank you.” This video made my eyes well up with tears in the best way- these past few days have made me feel very humble and thankful. This video just reinforces the fact that there is good in the world. [ more… Continue Reading »
