A 25 year old Australian, Chris Porter, recorded a collision with an elderly gentleman on a helmet-mounted GoPro camera. The footage ended up saving him an insurance nightmare and thousands of dollars.

Yet another reason we should all wear video cameras like GoPro or Contour whenever we ride. With most of society automatically blaming us even when we’re the victim, we really need that visual evidence to back us up.
July 16th, 2014, Melbourne: In the video you can clearly see the rider is in his own lane, hugging right, when a car on the left decides, “Eh, fuck it… I’ll just pull out in front of this bugger.” BOOM. Guy’s on the ground.
Bystanders come to his aid while the Elderly car driver hangs back, shocked at his oversight.
Because he was wearing a GoPro and captured the entire ordeal, he will not suffer insurance agencies trying to claim he was at fault.

Mary McGee is a pioneer in American motorcycle racing, thanks to her untamable determination and a spirit as warm as her smile. Her excitement for motorcycling, especially racing, is contagious even in her eighties. She was the first woman to receive an FIM racing license in the United States, first woman to complete the Baja 1000, and the first woman to race the Baja 500 solo. These aren’t her only firsts, either. She was also the first woman in motocross and road racing in the States. McGee was rightly inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame in 2018.
