A happy birthday love-note filled with photos and behind-the-scenes goodness from my time with the fastest woman on earth, Jessi Combs.
Why We Ride Documentary: Coming Soon
It took me a while to sit down and watch this trailer, despite multiple people sending it to me. Why? I’m not sure. Perhaps because I felt capturing “why we ride” in a trailer is impossible, and in a full length film difficult yet. But also because I felt that I needed to devote a minute of my undivided attention to the footage, and forcing myself to do that is sometimes difficult these days.
I finally pressed play and have to admit- I got goosebumps, there may have been some tears. They did an amazing job showing the passion of riders in just their trailer. After all, their slogan is-
It’s about the passion of the riders, and the soul of their machines.
The documentary will be in theaters November 1st, and looks incredibly promising as not only an entertaining documentary for those who ride, but an inspiring montage of footage wrought with excitement that could bring new people to the family.
They cover some of my favorite things- racing through the desert, the salt flats, beautiful sunsets…
…vintage racing
…and modern racing too.
Highlighting the fact that as riders we are a community, a big family. In each smaller family, motorcycles can be a strengthening factor to bond us.
“I think it’s like learning to play the violin, it’s just hideous and then all of a sudden it’s like like- oh my god, I know how to ride this thing now.”
“Motorcycles put me in touch with wonderful people, as a result of that I have an elevated idea of how good everybody in the world is.”
They are attempting to visualize the visceral feeling of riding, and I’m all for it. In just over two and a half minutes, they managed to make me insanely excited to share the excitement with all these different people. Kids, women, young guys and grey beards… so much wisdom and insight.
The trailer ends with a little kid hitting you with some encouraging words, and just tops off the entire thing. So anyway, you should probably have a look now.
